Privacy policy

This is our privacy policy in plain English. The short version: we collect only what you give us through the enquiry form, we use it to connect you with providers you’ve asked to hear from, and we don’t sell your details to anyone.

What we collect

When you use our enquiry form, we collect the details you type in — typically your name, contact details, postcode, and what you tell us about the care situation (for example, that you’re waiting for an assessment, or looking to switch providers). We collect health-related details only to the extent you choose to include them, and only so we can respond helpfully.

Why we collect it

We use your details to answer your enquiry and, if that’s what you’ve asked for, to match you with home care providers who service your area and can meet your needs. That’s it. We don’t use your details to build marketing profiles, and we won’t add you to a mailing list you didn’t ask for.

Who we share it with

We share your details only with the providers you ask to be connected with. Those providers may pay us a referral fee — that’s how our free service is funded, and it’s disclosed on every page of this site and on our About page.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, marketers or anyone else outside that disclosed referral arrangement. We may share information where the law requires it, and we use ordinary service providers (such as website hosting and email) to run the site, under arrangements that protect your information.

Analytics

We use website analytics in aggregate — which pages are read, which searches bring people here — to improve the guides. This is about patterns across all visitors, not about identifying you.

Your rights: access, correction and deletion

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. You can, at any time:

• Ask what we hold about you — we’ll tell you.
• Ask us to correct it — if a detail is wrong or out of date, we’ll fix it.
• Ask us to delete it — we’ll delete your details from our records, subject to anything we’re legally required to keep. Note that a provider we’ve already connected you with holds its own copy, and you’d ask them separately.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above.
