These are the terms for using homecarehelp.com.au, written in plain English. By using the site, you agree to them.

General information, not advice

Everything on this site is general information about the Support at Home program and Australian aged care. It is not medical, financial or legal advice, and it doesn’t take your personal circumstances into account. What you actually pay depends on your means assessment by Services Australia; what care you receive depends on your assessment through My Aged Care. Before making decisions, check your own situation with Services Australia, My Aged Care (1800 200 422) or a qualified adviser.

Figures change — here’s how we handle that

Aged care figures move constantly: classification budgets index each 1 July, contribution caps index each 20 March and 20 September, providers change their prices, and governments change policy. We make reasonable efforts to keep every page accurate, we show a “last updated” date on each page, and money pages name the dates their figures were current. Even so, a figure can be superseded between our reviews. Always confirm current figures with the official source before relying on them, and if you spot something out of date, tell us.

Our referral service

Our provider-matching service is free to you. It is funded by referral fees that providers may pay us when we connect you and you become their client. This funding never changes what we write, and it has no effect on your assessment, funding or place in the National Priority System. You are never obliged to use a provider we suggest. More detail is on our About page.

We are not the government

Home Care Help is an independent website. We are not My Aged Care, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, or any part of the Australian Government, and we have no access to government systems or records. Links to official websites are provided for your convenience.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content — which is why we ask you to confirm figures with official sources before acting on them.

The site’s content is ours (or licensed to us) and is for your personal use. Please don’t republish it commercially without asking.
