HomeMade vs Let’s Get Care: fees and models compared

Last updated 21 August 2026

Provider fees verified from published pricing, August 2026. Budget figures current as at 1 July 2026.

The short version

  • Both are self-managed Support at Home providers, and neither sets its own hourly rates - both broker third-party workers, so this comparison is fee structure vs fee structure.
  • HomeMade charges the government’s 10% care management allocation plus a 10% service loading (“HomeMade fees: 20%”). Let’s Get Care takes the same 10% care management allocation (booked at $156.10/hr) and adds an up to 10% administration fee on associate (third-party) provider services.
  • Neither brand is quite the independent it may appear: HomeMade is a subsidiary of Mable Technologies (the support-worker marketplace), and Let’s Get Care sits inside the myHomecare Group, acquired by Australian Unity in 2024.
  • Because service rates depend on the workers you choose, the deciding factors are the loadings, the extras (Let’s Get Care caps home-modification admin at $1,500 and assistive-technology admin at $500) and which network suits how you want to find workers.

“Not published” means the figure does not appear on the provider’s published pricing pages as at August 2026. With both providers, the rate that matters most is the one your chosen worker or third-party provider charges - get those quotes first.

What the fee structures mean in practice

Here is one worked example at Classification 5, which has a quarterly budget of $10,182.38 in 2026-27. With both providers, the government’s 10% care management allocation comes off first: $1,018.24, leaving a service pool of $9,164.14 for the quarter. Care management is clinical care, so it costs you nothing personally.

HomeMade

Classification 5 · $10,182.38/qtr
10% care management = $1,018.24, leaving $9,164.14
Then
10% service loading on services received through HomeMade - roughly $8,331 of worker charges fit in the pool
In hours
Depends on agreed rates - HomeMade doesn’t publish hourly rates, so hours turn on what your chosen workers charge

Let’s Get Care

Classification 5 · $10,182.38/qtr
10% care management = $1,018.24, leaving $9,164.14
Then
Up to 10% administration on associate-provider services - again roughly $8,331 of third-party charges fit in the pool if the full 10% applies
In hours
Depends on third-party rates - service prices are set by the third-party providers you choose

On paper, the two structures land in almost the same place: about $1,018 to care management and up to about $833 in loadings or admin per quarter at this level. Let’s Get Care’s associate-provider admin is “up to” 10%, so ask what rate actually applies to your services. From there, your hours turn entirely on the worker rates underneath - the national median for personal care is around $115/hr, and self-managed arrangements often come in below that. Your own means-tested contribution applies per service, the same way with either provider - see what you’ll pay.

Prices change - confirm before you sign

Every figure on this page was verified from HomeMade’s and Let’s Get Care’s published pricing in August 2026. Providers adjust prices often, and the government publishes a quarterly National Summary of Support at Home Prices for benchmarking. Ask each provider for its current price list in writing before signing a service agreement.

Which suits you?

Choose HomeMade if…

  • You plan to find workers through the Mable marketplace - HomeMade is Mable’s registered-provider arm, so the two are built to work together.
  • You want a large national network of service providers to draw on (HomeMade cites more than 3,500).
  • You may want a fully managed option with set rates later, without changing provider.

Choose Let’s Get Care if…

  • You already have (or want to keep) your own third-party providers and just need a registered provider to administer the budget.
  • The capped admin on home modifications (max $1,500) and assistive technology (max $500) matters for your plans.
  • You like the backing of a large group - it sits inside the Australian Unity-owned myHomecare Group.

Neither answer is “better” - the fee shapes are very close, so the choice comes down to which network fits how you want to find workers, and what each quotes for the services you’ll actually use.

Common questions

Neither publishes hourly rates - how do I actually compare costs?

Get quotes for your real roster. Pick the two or three services you’ll use most (say, personal care and cleaning), ask each provider what workers in your area typically charge, then add HomeMade’s 10% loading or Let’s Get Care’s admin rate on top. The monthly statements every provider must send will show you exactly what was charged once you start - see statements and budgets.

Does it matter that both brands have big corporate parents?

It’s worth knowing, rather than worrying about. HomeMade is owned by Mable Technologies, which runs the marketplace many of its clients source workers from; Let’s Get Care is part of the myHomecare Group, owned by Australian Unity since 2024. Ownership doesn’t change your rights - exit fees are banned and you can switch any time - but it can shape which worker networks and sister services each steers you towards.

Is the 10% care management fee the same at both?

The 10% allocation is set by government and applies to all registered providers - see the care management fee, explained. Providers differ in the hourly rate they book against it (Let’s Get Care lists $156.10/hr; HomeMade doesn’t publish a rate) and in what you get for it. It’s clinical care, so it costs you nothing personally either way.

What about exit fees and cancellations?

Exit fees are banned under Support at Home for every provider. Let’s Get Care asks for 48 hours’ cancellation notice; HomeMade doesn’t publish a cancellation policy as at August 2026, so confirm it in writing. If either doesn’t work out, switching providers is free and your unspent funds move with you.
