Home care providers in Queensland

Last updated 20 August 2026

Queensland is the third-largest Support at Home market - 71,602 people at 31 March 2026 - and the most spread out, with a large share of demand outside Brisbane. We cover six Queensland cities below, and can help you find providers anywhere in the state.

Home care in Queensland: the 2026 picture

Queensland-based providers punch above their weight nationally. Blue Care, part of UnitingCare Queensland, is the second-largest home care provider in the country and repeatedly rated Queensland’s most trusted aged care brand, while Brisbane-based Trilogy Care - a self-management specialist - has grown rapidly to become the third-largest. Blue Care’s breadth, with services across hundreds of locations, makes it something of a statewide safety net outside the south-east.

The harder news is waiting times. The government’s first wait-times report (covering November 2025 to March 2026) put the Queensland median at 322 days from application to services starting - the longest of any state, and roughly seven weeks longer than Victoria’s. Your priority category matters a great deal, and there are things you can do while you wait.

Distance is the other Queensland reality. Outback Queensland, the Gulf, Cape York and the Torres Strait are genuinely thin markets, and remote Indigenous communities are often served by flexible aged care programs rather than mainstream providers. Regional providers commonly add travel or per-kilometre charges while prices are set by providers - check your service agreement. For free, independent support, ADA Australia is the Queensland member of the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN, 1800 700 600).

Providers operating across Queensland

Two providers appear on all six of our Queensland city pages: Blue Care and Ozcare. Anglicare Southern Queensland covers five of the six (every city except Cairns), St Vincent’s Care serves Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and Comlink Australia appears on the Sunshine Coast, Townsville and Cairns pages. The Just Better Care and Right at Home franchise networks also run local offices in several Queensland cities - each city page lists the local operation and what it offers.

Common questions

Why are Queensland’s waits the longest, and what can I do?

The first government wait-times report put Queensland’s median at 322 days from application to services starting - the longest of any state. You can’t jump the queue, but interim CHSP services, short-term pathways and hardship provisions can all help in the meantime. Our guide to what you can do while you wait walks through the options.

I live in regional or remote Queensland - can you still help?

Yes. Coverage varies a lot outside the cities we list, and remote communities are often served by flexible aged care programs rather than mainstream providers. Tell us where you are and we’ll check who genuinely covers your area, free.

Are these all the home care providers in Queensland?

No. We list providers we’ve verified as registered for Support at Home and genuinely servicing each city - our directory grows as we confirm more. The full national register is always searchable through My Aged Care (myagedcare.gov.au or 1800 200 422).
